Beach Art - Scorching Bay

We built a jellyfish, first we made the head and body by piling up the sand. We made the eyes with wet sand. We made the tentacles out of sand. We decorated our jelly fish  - eyebrows and a mouth.
Sreypich, Stella K

I started making a castle and it turned out to be a whole Kingdom. I found a place on the beach where I could get handfuls of shells and rocks and I used them for decoration on the houses and the road.
Martha.

We are making our sand picture, you can't see it very well. It was a leaping dolphin, schools of fish, jellyfish and seaweed. Our picture even had a hook so it could be hung on the wall!
Cadence, Lauren

Our group made a Sea Monster/Crocodile. It had four flippers, two white eyes, a long body with a fin trailing along its back, a tail circling a nest with a stone-hard egg, a huge nose with two large nostrils at the end. We tied 1st with two other groups! Our suprizing prize was... two slippery pencils, seriously though, they were really slippery. Kate and Lila were in our group and built it with us.
Annie, Jasmine

First we made a mountain shape, we dug a tunnel through the mountain and filled it with water. Ali made part of our tunnel collapse.
Tui, Toko

We decided to make a canoe for the competition. We first made the outline of the canoe, then we fattened up the outside. then we made four seats, one for each person in the group. Then we made paddles. We all sat in it and pretended we were paddling to somewhere, anywhere really. It was FUN!

The Hannahs.

We were making a crab and a rockpool. We gathered shells and rocks to put in the bottom of the rockpool, so that hopefully the sand wouldn't soak up the water. Jessica thought it was hard work gathering sand. We didn't win but we had fun.

We decided to make Spongebob because we had to base our art on the sea. First we made a big square and put heaps of sand on it to make it look 3D. Then we got some shells and rocks and sticks and decorated it. We won a prize. It fun playing in the sand.

Jasmine T and I made a Minecraft squid. We were trying to make it like it was popping out of the water but it was too hard to do this. Instead we just made a big hole and used the slushy mud when we found water.
Amelia

Today we made a GIANT turtle! It had little brown sand fish swimming with it in the calm Pacific waters. We dug a trench around it and used the sand to make the turtle's shell. James collected HEAPS of shells including a yellow catseye.

Today I made a big starfish. I decorated it with my team, we used shells and I made the starfish by pressing my palm into the sand and pulling it along.
Holly.

I liked drawing in the sand.  By Rizario.
